Prepare variance analyses, vendor financial contract reviews, training, and ad hoc analysis of strategic opportunities. Seeks out new opportunities and areas of learning which increase value to the organization. The best fit for this role will enjoy an office environment, working collaboratively across many internal groups and with external vendors.

What you’ll do:

  • Plan and perform vendor contract financial reviews: verify rates, billing periods, quantities, taxes, discounts, holdbacks / retainage and contract line items against Master Contracts, Change Orders and Purchase Orders.
  • Perform complex reviews with minimal supervision.
  • Analyze and provide recommendations regarding Financial Controls financial review processes.
  • Ability to work across all areas of AEP and with external vendors collaboratively.
  • Provide regular report outs to management and team to better understand processes.
  • Assist in back up duties for various areas of Financial Controls such as, but not limited to, SOX reporting and UVL processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings and revenue enhancement.

What we’re looking for:

Financial Analyst SG7

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred majors include accounting, finance, economics, business administration or engineering.

Experience:

  • Four (4) or more years of work experience in the disciplines mentioned in the education requirement.

In addition:

A successful candidate will exhibit the following qualities/skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Maximo and COGNOS;
  • Familiarity with contract language and Procurement policies a must;
  • Exposure to CAA, PowerBI, SQL, and Workiva a plus;
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and comfortably with all levels of the organization; Strategic Thinking; Relationship building; Teamwork; Adaptability/Flexibility; Customer Focus; Planning/Organizing Skills.
