Job Description

The Program Finance department serves as a critical business partner by providing analysis, insight, and guidance to enable strategic program decisions and achieving bottom-line results.

This position, located at the Groton, CT Shipyard Facility, supports the COLUMBIA Construction Program Finance team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performance measurement and variance analysis; including Cost Account Plans
  • Communication with Cost Account Managers and department Directors
  • Create and update daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • Estimate at Complete development
  • Budget development and maintenance
  • Preparation of cost reports to support both internal and external customers
  • Manpower Plan and Operating Plan development
  • Shop order control
  • Preparation of billing instructions for submittal to Cash Management

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Mathematics

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Prior Electric Boat employment or internship
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Experience with Power BI

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas) and PowerPoint
  • Must be interested in and capable of analyzing large sets of data with minimal supervision
  • Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
