About the Position

Lane County is seeking an experienced financial systems professional to join our team in a limited-duration role supporting the operation, maintenance, improvement, and upgrade of County financial software systems.

This position serves as a functional expert and key liaison between Finance, Technology Services, system users, and vendors. The successful candidate will analyze business processes and user needs, identify system solutions, support upgrades and re-implementations, develop queries and reports, troubleshoot functional issues, and help ensure financial systems are accurate, efficient, secure, and responsive to operational needs.

The role also includes coordinating projects, documenting business and system requirements, developing user guidance and training, and translating complex technical and financial information for a wide range of audiences.

We are looking for someone who brings strong financial systems knowledge, analytical and project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Experience with governmental finance, accounting systems, integrated financial applications, business process analysis, or system implementation and upgrades will be especially valuable.

This is a limited-duration opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, improving systems and processes, and helping users get the most from the technology that supports critical County financial operations.

About the Division:

The Financial Services Division, part of the County Administration Department, includes 15 FTE who support:

  • Accounting and financial reporting
  • Cash, investment, and debt management
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Payroll administration
  • Procurement and contract compliance

The Division maintains accurate, timely financial records, ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and produces the County’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). It oversees systems that monitor and report the receipt and disbursement of County and taxing district funds, and ensures all financial obligations are properly recorded.

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm

*This is a limited duration position that is budgeted for up to two (2) years. It is a fully benefitted position.*

Examples of duties

Training & Experience:

  • Six years of education and/or experience in municipal budgets, finance, accounting, business administration, or similar; or a combination sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.

  • Successfully passing a seven-year criminal history background check required.
