Job Description

Role Summary

The SVG Finance team is growing, and we are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. Operating at the intersection of Finance, Sales Operations, and HR, the primary focus of this role is the timely, accurate, and efficient calculation and administration of variable compensation for our sales teams. This individual will also support broader FP&A functions through data analysis, financial forecasting, KPI tracking, and ad-hoc reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Variable Compensation Administration: Lead the end-to-end calculation, verification, and payout processing of employee variable compensation plans, ensuring strict adherence to schedules, commission structures, and payment deadlines.
  • Stakeholder & Sales Collaboration: Partner closely with sales leaders and cross-functional teams to communicate compensation structures, review earnings, and resolve pay inquiries with tact, diplomacy, and clarity.
  • FP&A Support & Data Analysis: Assist the FP&A team with financial forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive SVG’s overall financial outlook.
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting: Conduct business problem-solving and ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic decision-making across the finance department.
  • Data Integrity & Privacy: Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion when managing sensitive payroll, commission, and earnings data.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience), alongside 1–3 years of corporate finance, FP&A, or business analytics experience.

Core Traits: High-level attention to detail, strong work ethic, exceptional organizational skills, and a self-starter mindset. Must be capable of working independently while maintaining a strong team-player mentality.

Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required for cross-departmental collaboration.

Technical Proficiency

  • Excel: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required for complex modeling, data manipulation, and dynamic reporting.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Proven experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude in Excel) for dynamic modeling, efficiency, and advanced data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Snowflake, relational databases, or SQL for querying source data.
