Job Description

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for a variety of financial and budgetary activities at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study. The position will facilitate financial transactions for the school’s academic and administrative departments and programs, and provide internal control review of fiscal activity on operating, restricted funds, endowment and sponsored research accounts. The analyst will analyze and develop financial spreadsheets and perform variance analysis, provide statistical data, investigate, resolve account spending discrepancies, manage financial records and files, and ensure consistent maintenance and accuracy of such reports. The analyst will also initiate, develop, and respond to various types of inquiries regarding financial policies, procedures, deadlines, etc. and serve as a resource to the Gallatin community on financial and budgetary matters.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field Required Experience:3+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education or experience Preferred Experience:3+ years relevant experience including budget administration in an educational/non-profit institution. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Basic understanding of finance and budgeting concepts. Familiarity with Windows-based software applications, including proficiency with databases and spreadsheet software such as Excel. Knowledge of Workday a plus.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $76,500.00 to USD $93,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
