ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE
This function is mainly responsible for the calculation and reporting of product cost and variance throughout the entire organization, as part of the financial controls related to Local/statutory/Legal requirements and management and reporting objectives.
The function participates in the annual budget process, with the main focus on product costing. The incumbent is also responsible for the validation of accounting entries, give full support during the internal and external audits and will participate in various projects.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE
1. Degree
University Degree or demonstrated equivalent through training and business experience
2. Formal education
Business Administration (e.g. Applied Economics/ Accountancy)
3. Experience required
3-5 years of business experience
4. Specific training and skills
A basic know-how in financial reporting, planning and budget systems, value analysis, accounting and report writing is a must.
Computerized information systems and Microsoft Office applications
Fluency in Dutch, English and French
Since the incumbent gives advise to colleagues and may treat confidential data , he or she should possess a lot of diplomacy and tact in dealing with people inside and outside the organization.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Analysis and reporting of the product cost and variances
The prime responsibility of this function is in the field of collecting information, primarily of a financial nature, for the entire organization, reflecting this data in the product cost and presenting them in a format that can be readily used by Management. In this respect the incumbent develops and maintains computerized financial models which generate reports that answers Management’s need.
2. Participation in the annual budget process
The incumbent will participate in the annual budget process by working together with Management to develop the yearly revised product cost.
The incumbent participates in the development of the budget package in accordance with the guidelines established by Corporate and local Management.
In this respect, the incumbent develops and mantains computerized financial models that generate reports that answer Management’s need.
The incumbent provides Cost Accounting with the necessary budget information to load the standard product cost into the accounting systems.
3. Validation of the accounting entries
The incumbent assists Cost Accounting in daily loading the standard product cost into the accounting systems for new products and validating the accounting entries before final closing by reviewing product cost revisions/variances.
In this respect the incumbent is responsible that accounting rules are followed.
The incumbent supports the yearly external audit and internal corporate audit , this by providing all necessary data regarding product costing.
4. Participation in Projects/Operation Teams
The incumbent will work on projects of different nature within Finance or other departments. These projects may be performed in a project team approach or individually. The incumbent works together with representatives of other supporting departments and production to enhance mutual knowledge of the operations and improve results.
