This position is part of the team that analyzes financing options to secure capital at optimal levels and costs and supports Alabama Power Company’s and SEGCO’s financial plans by providing tactical and strategic financing assumptions This position is an integral part of the team that provides financial analysis and investment oversight for Alabama Power Company, Alabama Power Foundation, Alabama Business Charitable Trust, and SEGCO. The ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate entire processes without supervision is required. This position will also support documentation and assurance that accounting controls operate effectively, and that reporting is accurate and timely.
Financial Analysis of special projects and initiatives for Alabama Power Company is an ongoing responsibility of the Financial Management and Analysis team. This person will be a strategic business partner by providing financial expertise, modeling and analysis to assist in key decisions. They will work with intra-company project teams and multiple levels of management (i.e. the Chief Financial Officer and senior management of any of the Company’s business units) as necessary, including developing presentations for – and presenting to management.
Oversight of investments for nuclear decommissioning and charitable trusts including reviews of managers’ performance, administration of fund fees and expenses, and presenting results to management and executive oversight committees is a primary responsibility for this position..
This position will provide support and analysis to assist in responding to regulatory strategy requests and filings, including those for peer analysis, Rates RSE, CNP and ECR that require an understanding of the overall financial impacts of regulatory strategy and rates to Alabama Power Company.
This position will contribute to the department’s goals of providing superior service that assures effective internal controls, adequate liquidity is available, credit ratings are maintained, capital structure is managed, and investments are monitored for diversity, risk, expenses and returns. Process improvement is also an area of focus for this position with ongoing opportunities for professional development and innovation.

Other Requirements
Some overtime and occasional travel is required. This job generally requires in-person work in the Birmingham Corporate Headquarters four days per week, with one remote day most weeks.
