The Financial Analyst 3-Revenue provides comprehensive and coordinated revenue analytics in support of data driven insights and decision making by operational leaders. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to understand the client's business situation and develop data driven insights at the highest level that can be understood and implemented. Collaborates with other Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team members, Hospital Finance, Administration, Service Line Leadership, Managed Care, Contracting, Billing, Coding and other departments to identify opportunities to enhance revenue and improve performance. Assists with payor performance analytics, payor contract modeling, managed care performance, service line revenue analytics and other forms of revenue analytics and expected reimbursement reporting. Acts as an internal expert for advising and educating management on areas of revenue and reimbursement. Participates in or leads projects of moderate to high complexity as assigned. These services may be provided for in support of all LLUH entities. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree or financial relevant certification required. Minimum five years financial analysis or related experience required; healthcare experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Able to address complex, unusual, and critical issues. Able to find new and innovative ways to solve complex challenges. Able to extract data from multiple financial systems and manipulate with ease and accuracy. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office required, including advanced functions such as graphics, pivot tables, macros and database management. SQL experience required; extensive SQL experience preferred. Financial reporting experience required. Strong skills in at least three of the following: Statistical analysis, database architecture, Business Intelligence tools (PowerBI, Tableau), Epic reporting, project management, able to integrate clinical and business information to facilitate decision making at the highest level, highly developed knowledge of finance theories (such as present value theories, cash flow analysis or other accounting principles, or demonstrated track record in effectively developing, interfacing and maintaining collaborative relationships with healthcare/operating entity leadership, executives, physicians and other key business partners. Able to function with little to no supervision. Works well in a team setting. Superior written and oral communication skills. Energetic and innovative thinker. Good analytical problem-solving skills; able to analyze, interpret, and translate raw data into meaningful information; apply mathematics to manipulate and analyze data. Comfortable in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment. Able to remain organized and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP), any other financial relevant certification or Master's Degree required.
