Financial Aid Systems Analyst
The Financial Aid Systems Analyst serves as a senior technical and functional expert responsible for the design, configuration, and optimization of financial aid systems supporting the administration of federal, state, and institutional aid programs totaling more than $150M annually.
Working under the direction of the Financial Aid Systems Manager, this role translates complex federal Title IV regulations and business requirements into system configuration, processing logic, and technical solutions. The Analyst independently develops and implements system enhancements, resolves complex issues, and ensures accurate and compliant system performance.
This position requires advanced expertise in financial aid systems and regulatory frameworks, contributing to system reliability, data integrity, and operational efficiency in a high-risk, compliance-driven environment.
What you will be doing in this position
Advanced System Configuration & Solution Development
Designs, configures, and maintains financial aid and scholarship system functionality across the full aid lifecycle
Develops complex packaging strategies, queries, and processing logic supporting awarding, disbursement, and reconciliation
Builds and maintains system controls to ensure data integrity, compliance, and audit readiness
Implementssystem enhancements and configuration changes based on regulatory and business requirements
Troubleshoots and resolves complex system issues, including data discrepancies and processing failures
Regulatory Translation & Compliance Support
Advises Financial Aid leadership on system readiness, implementation risks, and operational impacts associated with regulatory or policy changes
Interprets federal Title IV regulations and translates requirements into system configuration and processing rules
Supports annual aid-year setup, including testing, validation, and deployment of regulatory updates
Executes testing strategies to ensure system compliance and accuracy
Identifies potential compliance risks within system processes and recommends mitigation strategies
Systems Integration & Technical Collaboration
Collaborateswith OIT and campus partners to design, test, and implement system integrations
Supports data exchange processes with federal systems (e.g., COD, NSLDS, CPS/SAIG), ensuring accuracy and reliability
Assistsin evaluating system capabilities and recommending technical solutions to meet evolving business needs
Contributes to system documentation and technical standards
Process Improvement & Operational Support
Identifies opportunities to improve system efficiency, automation, and user experience
Developssolutions to reduce manual intervention and streamline workflows
Supports cross-functional initiatives to improve financial aid delivery
Developsdocumentation and training materials for system processes and changes
Provides guidance to staff on system functionality and issue resolution
Supports onboarding and continuous learning within the team
What qualifies you for this role
Education/Experience
MinimumRequired:Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in financial aid systems, student information systems, or a related technical/functional role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:Master’s degree and 5years’ experience in financial aid systems, student information systems, or a related technical/functional role or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Proficiency with system configuration, aid-year rollover, query development, and packaging strategies

This position comes with fantastic benefits, including:
Pay Grade: 54T
Typical Starting Pay: $88,000-$114,000
The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
