Position Details:
- Temporary Assistant Director of Financial Aid (Leave Coverage)
- Pay Range: $32.00–$35.00 per hour

- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Location: Fully onsite in Hayward, CA
- Position Duration: This is a temporary leave coverage assignment anticipated to continue through September 4, 2026, with employment ending upon completion of the temporary assignment unless otherwise extended.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and facilitate with the implementation of the OBBB: creating procedures for determining time to credential, identifying students at risk of losing legacy status and implementing new rules on Pro-rating loans for enrollment status.
- Responsible for maintaining the financial aid module of CAMS including sets ups, resolving technical problems, and generating custom reports as needed;
- Oversee the Direct Loan program by running import and export processes, review reject reports and resolve errors or issues with COD.
- Keep abreast of changes with federal policies and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Advise current, transfer, international and prospective students on financial aid.
- Package financial aid in CAMS and generate award letters. Responsible for the quarterly loan renewal process.
- Transmit funds to AR through the Transfer process. Provide support to the business office for
- Direct Loan reconciliation (weekly/monthly/yearly).
- Review files and perform verifications; Resolve conflicting issues and c-flags; Process professional judgments.
- Process credit based loans (Graduate PLUS), track approvals, and assist students in resolving credit issues.
- Represent the financial aid office during Champions weekend, give presentations for Loan
- Renewal Sessions, Financial Literacy Class, and Repayment Strategy Sessions.
- In the absence of the Director, provide support and represent the office for meetings and decision making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (a combination of relevant education and professional financial aid experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
- Three to four years of management in financial aid programs or equivalent
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Google Docs/Sheets, CAMs, COD, FAA Access, NSLDS and Edconnect or other integrated software.
- Working knowledge of federal Title IV financial aid regulations and requirements, with the ability to interpret the complex financial aid rules, regulations and applications of the U.S. DOE
- Ability to run reports, interpret and implement complicated data and formulas.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, and prioritize work to meet deadlines while demonstrating attention to detail
- Strong computer and database skills
- Ability to work independently and as member of a team
