Financial Accounting Manager

Salary Range $68,000 - $75,000

West Virginia Public Broadcasting is looking for an individual to fill the full-time position of Financial Accounting Manager. The Financial Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all Financial aspects of West Virginia Public Broadcasting including but not limited to budgeting, reporting, and compliance. They will lead the business office team operations in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and ensure strong Financial controls. Additionally, they will be responsible for compliance and reporting to the State of West Virginia. The Financial Accounting Manager will work with the nonprofits that support West Virginia Public Broadcasting by providing Financial information and reports and will oversee and be responsible for the external audit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred
  • Seven (7) or more years of progressive financial management experience, preferably in nonprofit, public media, or broadcasting organizations
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial planning, and reporting standards
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of supervisory and administrative principles
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail
  • Mindset for improvement, problem solving, and critical thinking
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with a wide variety of organizations, agencies, and individuals.

Preferred education and experience:

  • Master's degree
  • Knowledge of state government and non-profits
  • Interest in public broadcasting
