The EMEA Financial Accounting Manager is a key management position reporting into the EMEA Finance Controller for CooperSurgical (CSI) and helping maintain a secure & robust financial reporting framework through the markets it supports.
In partnership with the wider GBS teams & Country Managers, the Global Controllership organization, Regional Finance leadership and Internal Audit this role is instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the Financial Reporting framework. This position works to improve understanding between the different parts of the Finance organisation, particularly the GBS and the activity in the field.
The role will manage, oversee and be the main point of contact for the Accounting, Financial Reporting and audit (both internal and external) for a number of EMEA CSI’s entities in the GBS and directly manage a team of 2-4 accountants. They will partner closely with the in-market teams to ensure the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of the financial reporting as well as other finance functions to ensure their teams have the support required, and future developments are understood and implemented correctly.
This role will also support the EMEA Finance Controller in driving strategic change alongside process, policy and efficiency improvements on a path toward greater alignment of accounting and control processes under the GBS model. With their proactive approach, and working with their finance partners, this role will identify continuous improvement opportunities through the Financial Reporting processes, promoting best practice and drive accelerated close timeframes
Technical accounting escalations and general accounting support for both the operations and commercial markets will be delivered from this role, fostering a close working relationship with the operating business and FP&A, allowing them to gain timely feedback and guidance on complex topics to support their financial responsibilities in a more efficient manner.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
Experience and Education
Broad knowledge of all finance areas including financial systems and applications
Strong knowledge and application of US GAAP.
Educated to degree (ideally Accounting / Finance) level or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative.
