Position Information
We are seeking a Financial Accountant II who independently performs moderately complex financial and administrative activities related to banking operations, deposits, financial processing, accounts receivable support, and shared services support.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and process complex deposits and banking transactions for supported AgriLife agencies.
- Independently assist departments with submission, processing, and resolution of financial transactions through institutional financial systems.
- Prepare and process financial uploads, deposits, reimbursement activity, payroll-related entries, and other transactional items; research and resolve related discrepancies.
- Review financial documents for accuracy, coding, approvals, and compliance with established procedures; resolve routine deficiencies and exceptions.
- Research, analyze, and resolve returned payments, ACH activity, credit card transactions, unidentified payments, and other banking-related exceptions.
- Monitor and coordinate shared communications, service requests, and ticketing activities; research and resolve assigned financial and customer support issues.
- Monitor compliance with institutional cash handling procedures, resolve routine compliance concerns, and escalate significant concerns to management as appropriate.
- Maintain records and documentation and provide knowledgeable customer service support related to financial and banking operations.
- Assist with accounts receivable activities and related financial operations as needed.
- Recommend improvements to assigned financial processes and procedures and assist with implementation of approved changes.
- Provide cross-functional operational support and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Two years of Related experience.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong computer, communication, accounting/bookkeeping, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, maintain attention to detail, and work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to independently interpret and apply financial procedures and institutional guidelines.
- Ability to research and resolve financial discrepancies and transactional issues.
