Team Introduction
The Global Payments team provides payment solutions and financial services to ensure that users have a smooth and secure payment experience across our platforms and services.
We are seeking an accountant with experience in fintech, banking, and other financial and/or payment institution related accounting.
This a hands-on role and requires someone that is self driven, adaptable to changes and strong leadership qualities to lead the team to achieve its yearly objectives in a highly fast paced environment. This role is based in São Paulo, Brazil.

Responsibilities:
- Enhance the quality and accuracy of local accounting books.
- Assist in executing local audits and reporting in Latin America.
- Assist in the daily activities of accounting financial operations.
- Assist in new accounting analysis on new product launching/accounting change.
- Establish strong internal controls over accounting operations including system configuration.
- Research accounting implications (in collaboration with TikTok’s accounting headquarter team in Hong Kong) from changes in the business, stay up-to-date on changes in industry trends and use the information to inform internal decisions.
- Partner with the global accounting/reporting teams to operationalize the accounting relating to complex transactions.
- Partner with the local accounting firms to finish local bookkeeping operations.
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors to ensure timely completion of audit requests, and aid in the research and analysis of audit issues raised.
- Basic knowledge of local tax rules and its accounting implications.
- Work closely with reporting/tax teams to ensure compliance with the local GAAP, IFRS and internal policies through effective communications and globally coordinated execution. Also, able to translate/apply GAAP/international policies to operationalize complex accounting issues, including assessing the design and/or effectiveness of internal controls.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant accounting standards, and assess operational implications for any relevant changes.
- Work closely with all areas of accounting and cross-functional teams such as AR, AP, Tax, Payroll, Marketing, MSO, SMB and e-Commerce.
