The Role

As our business continues to grow and evolve, so does our team.

We are currently looking for a Financial Accountant to join our accounting team at our Product Innovation Centre in Weymouth.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will play an important role in delivering accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, treasury support and strong balance sheet controls across the business.

This is a varied role where you will work across statutory accounts, VAT, month-end reporting, treasury, audit and financial controls, while also supporting improvements to our finance processes and systems.

You Will:

  • Prepare annual UK statutory accounts in accordance with FRS 102.
  • Support external statutory audits and provide clear, accurate supporting documentation.
  • Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • Maintain strong audit trails, reconciliations and supporting financial documentation.
  • Support lease accounting activities and ensure the correct accounting treatment is applied.
  • Review monthly bank reconciliations and support treasury and cashflow activities.

Prepare monthly cashflow forecasts in line with Group Treasury requirements.

  • Review supplier payment runs and support banking approvals in line with internal controls.
  • Complete month-end activities including accruals, prepayments and SAP close processes.
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages and Group reporting schedules.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Support Accounts Payable with issue resolution and financial controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and internal controls.
  • Support SAP, reporting and wider finance process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure finance activities remain compliant with relevant accounting standards, company policies and regulatory requirements.

About You

You will be a qualified finance professional who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent attention to detail.

You will be comfortable working to reporting deadlines, investigating financial information and ensuring that accounts are accurate, fully supported and audit-ready.

You will also enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues across Finance and the wider business and will be confident identifying opportunities to improve existing processes and controls.

You Will Have:

  • CIMA, ACCA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Working knowledge of UK VAT requirements.
  • Experience reviewing financial statements and providing commentary to senior management.
  • Experience working with external auditors during statutory audits.
  • Hands-on experience preparing accounts under UK GAAP and/or IFRS.

Strong financial reconciliation and analytical skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of financial controls.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge or experience of SAP.
  • Experience of treasury activities, including bank reconciliations and intercompany funding arrangements.
  • Experience identifying and implementing finance process improvements.
  • Understanding of corporate ESG topics and carbon reporting requirements.
