Job Description

As a proud iwi-owned organisation, we are integrating the best of both PAE (New Zealand) Limited and Switched On to partner with businesses, government sector, commercial and private clients to deliver asset and property management services, facilities maintenance and construction services to enhance environments across New Zealand.

With a strong focus to the future to deliver a strategic road map we are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our high performing Finance team. With Shared Service functions across the motu, we are open to whether this role is based in Wellington or Christchurch, what matters is your ability to work as part of our close-knit team, and the skill and industry experience you will bring.

What your day may include:

  • Multi entity management, leading month-end and year-end reporting processes
  • Preparing journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
  • Supporting statutory reporting and audit requirements
  • Preparation of GST, FBT and managing IRD queries
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers
  • Prepare complex balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monitor, analyse and report cashflow performance
  • Provide insightful, accurate and timely financial information for various stakeholders Contributing to Board and Executive reporting
  • Manage and maintain DFA reconciliations

What we're looking for

  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Accounting, Finance, or related tertiary qualification
  • At least 3 years' post-qualification experience in financial reporting or chartered accounting
  • Strong knowledge of NZ IFRS and statutory reporting requirements
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills (we like to have a laugh along the way)
  • High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Someone who enjoys taking ownership and continuously improving how things are done
