Legend is hiring a Financial Accountant, reporting to our Senior Financial Reporting Manager in St Helier, Jersey.
The Financial Reporting team sits at the heart of our global Finance function, ensuring the business has accurate, reliable financial information while continually improving how we report, analyse and use data.
As a Financial Accountant, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, while taking a hands-on approach to improving the processes behind it. You'll use data, technology and automation to reduce manual work, strengthen controls and help us produce better financial insight.
This role would suit a qualified accountant with 1–2 years' post-qualified experience who has already gained practical experience within a finance environment and enjoys getting into the detail, solving problems and finding smarter ways of working.
You'll join a fast-paced, multinational listed business where you'll have the opportunity to take ownership, challenge existing processes and contribute to how our Finance function continues to evolve and scale.
Your Impact:
- Support the preparation and delivery of accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting, including balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules and working papers.
- Analyse financial information across the balance sheet, P&L and cash flow to investigate variances, identify trends and highlight potential risks or opportunities.
- Take ownership of investigating and resolving reporting issues, helping to improve the quality and reliability of financial information.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial reporting processes, reducing manual effort and creating more efficient and scalable ways of working.
- Build and automate reporting and analysis using Excel, Power Query, Alteryx or similar data and automation tools.
- Partner with Finance Operations, FP&A and wider Finance teams to improve the quality, consistency and flow of financial information across the business.
- Support audit and governance activities throughout the reporting cycle, ensuring reporting processes and controls remain robust.
- Contribute to Finance transformation and continuous improvement projects as the business continues to grow.
What You’ll Bring:
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent, with approximately 1–2 years' post-qualified experience.
- Hands-on experience in financial reporting, financial accounting or a similar finance role, with practical ownership of reporting processes and outputs.
- Demonstrable experience improving finance processes, with examples of processes you've simplified, automated, redesigned or made more efficient.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using financial data to investigate issues, understand variances and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and confidently manipulating and analysing large datasets, with practical experience using Power Query, Alteryx or similar data and automation tools highly desirable.
- Strong financial accounting fundamentals and the ability to work confidently across the balance sheet, P&L and cash flow.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to work across Finance and explain financial information clearly.
- A proactive and curious approach, with excellent attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset, you're comfortable challenging existing processes and looking for smarter ways of working.
The Interview Process:
