The Financial Accountant role is an opportunity to bring strong accounting expertise, analytical thinking, and a continuous improvement mindset to Accounting Operations. You will support key financial processes, deliver accurate reporting, and work closely with Finance and business partners to improve processes, enhance service, and drive better outcomes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Complete all accounting and month-end processes for areas of accountability (e.g., journals entries, monthly accrual process, allocations)

  • Support budgeting and forecasting process for areas of accountability

  • Liaise with business partners and other Finance departments asrequired

  • Assistin creation and distribution of period end and ad-hoc reports and schedules

  • Assistin continuous improvement efforts to improve service to internal and external customers.

  • Areas of accountability: Payroll, Shared Services Allocation model, Debt Reconciliation, Corporate Cost Department,,Pension Statement,

  • Proposes changes to processes,approachesand techniques

Education Required:

  • University Degree with 4 years related experience or College Diploma in Business or Commerce

  • 6 years of progressive accounting related experience and enrollment at an advanced level in a designated professional program.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may beconsidered whereappropriate

Qualifications:

  • Advanced skill inutilizingspreadsheets isrequired

  • This position requires expert knowledge of accounting concepts and financial reporting requirements.

  • Excellent leadership, organization,communicationand analytical skills combined with the ability to work with many different people in different areas and levels of ENMAXisrequired

  • Youcanwork independently whilemaintainingan accurateproduct without compromising reporting deadlines. The position requires an awareness of clients’ business and operating environment and an understanding of the comments and questions of clients and to appropriately respond.

Salary:Accountant C(CUPE 2025hourly rates)

$94,190.82-$100,082.71-$105,974.60-$111,846.64 - $117,738.53

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office)work forcewith office workspacelocatedat ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
