Job Description

If you’re an experienced finance professional who enjoys improving processes, influencing decision making, and taking ownership of financial performance, and you’re looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact beyond reporting numbers- this could be your next move.

This is an opportunity to join Boots Hearingcare as a Financial Accountant, supporting the financial health, compliance, and strategic planning of both our UK and Republic of Ireland operations. You’ll play a key role in ensuring robust financial controls, delivering insightful reporting, and driving continuous improvement across the finance function, backed by the stability, investment and innovation of Boots Hearingcare and Sonova.

No being siloed. No simply producing reports and moving on. Just the opportunity to influence, improve, and support better business decisions within a growing organisation.

You’ll join a collaborative Finance team with exposure to senior stakeholders and cross-functional projects, working in a business focused on growth, transformation and continuous improvement.

The role offers:

  • Hybrid working- 3 days from home and 2 days in our Llandudno Head Office
  • Exposure to strategic projects and business-wide initiatives
  • Opportunity to influence processes, controls and ways of working
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Finance and wider business teams
  • Supportive leadership and development opportunities
  • A business actively investing in improvement and innovation

This role is about ownership and impact, not simply maintaining the status quo.

The role

As a Financial Accountant, you’ll:

  • Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts and supporting reporting packs
  • Support month-end close activities and ensure reporting deadlines are achieved
  • Manage corporation tax, VAT returns and reconciliations
  • Support statutory audits, year-end processes and regulatory submissions
  • Assist with annual budgeting cycles and monthly reforecasting activity
  • Review incentive schemes and associated reconciliations
  • Maintain strong financial controls and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and improve financial processes, systems and governance
  • Provide financial insight to support business decisions and performance
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation
  • Support projects and drive efficiencies across the finance function

You’ll be trusted to challenge constructively, improve processes and help shape financial best practice.

Progression & development

This role is ideal for someone looking to broaden their commercial exposure and progress within a growing organisation.

Progression opportunities may include:

  • Senior Financial Accountant responsibilities
  • Finance Business Partner pathways
  • Leadership opportunities within Finance
  • Involvement in transformation and strategic projects
  • Exposure to wider Sonova Group development opportunities

You’ll also benefit from:

  • Ongoing professional development
  • Exposure to business-wide projects and change initiatives
  • Opportunities to influence systems, controls and operational performance
  • Experience working within an international organisation

What’s in it for you

  • Competitive salary
  • Hybrid working (3 days from home)
  • 25–30 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Boots Discount Card
  • Free hearing aids (if required as an employee)
  • Free flu vaccination (discounted for family members)
  • Pension scheme & life assurance
  • Flexible Benefits Box – tailor your package
  • Long service awards recognising your contribution
  • Supportive working culture with development opportunities

What we’re looking for

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (part-qualified candidates considered)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within a finance or accounting environment
  • Strong financial accounting and tax experience
  • Experience producing management accounts and senior-level reporting
  • Advanced Excel capability
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Strong analytical ability with high attention to detail
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and challenge constructively
  • Positive, proactive and improvement-focused mindset
