We are seeking a motivated and analytically minded candidate to join our Finance Technology team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a STEM background to further their career at the intersection of finance and technology. Working closely with the Finance Transformation Director, you will play a key role in supporting finance systems, maintaining our data infrastructure, and building data-driven insights. Curiosity for technology, a structured problem-solving approach, and a willingness to learn are essential.

Key Responsibilities

System Support & Maintenance

  • Act as a first point of contact for finance systems and integrations related queries, troubleshooting issues and escalating where necessary.
  • Assist in the testing and deployment of finance system releases and enhancements.
  • Support the development of new and innovative ways to improve user adoption and competency across the finance user base (e.g. AI/chatbots for self-help)

Data Management & Analytics

        • Assist in the maintenance and development of the finance data warehouse, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and availability.
        • Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data in support of reporting and analytical requirements.
        • Build, maintain, and enhance PowerBI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insight to finance stakeholders.
        • Support data governance efforts by identifying and resolving data quality issues.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with the Finance Transformation Director and wider finance teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT and other business functions to support system integrations and cross-platform data flows.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to leverage technology to enhance efficiency across the finance function.
  • Participate in project work related to the ongoing finance transformation initiative.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

        • A degree in a STEM discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, Physics or related fields).
        • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to working with data and systems.
        • Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write queries to interrogate and manipulate datasets.
        • Experience or academic exposure to data visualisation tools, ideally PowerBI.
        • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
        • High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.

Desirable

        • Exposure to ERPs or finance systems
        • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
        • Experience with Python for data processing, automation, or analysis.
