Job Description

Our client, a major international law firm is looking for a Finance Team Lead to be responsible for all areas of finance operations for the Tokyo office and also provide support and guidance to other APAC offices from time to time. The role can be stationed in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial operations for the Tokyo office.
• Collaborate with the Tokyo General Manager and partners.
• Manage group reporting, cash flow, and treasury.
• Prepare annual financial statements for Japan tax filing.
• Optimize processes and supervise a team of 2 overseas-based accountants.
• Assist with ad hoc projects and provide finance-related training.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance management with ACCA/CPA or equivalent qualification preferred 
• Minimum 8 years' experience in accounting and finance, preferably within an international professional firm
• Knowledge of Japan GAAP and taxes will be highly regarded.
  
• Fluency in English is a must and Japanese language skills will be a bonus.
  
• Good communication skills and team management experience will be a plus
