McMillan has an exciting permanent opportunity as a Finance Systems Administrator in our Toronto Office reporting to Director of Financial Systems, Planning & Analysis. As a member of this innovative team, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining financial applications and providing user support. The position will work closely with Finance, IT and EPMO groups to implement and deliver system changes, operational environment maintenance, and interactions with 3rd party vendors.

Please note that this role offers a hybrid workweek. Each week will combine both working at home for a few days and working in the Toronto office for the balance. Your hybrid schedule will start once you join McMillan!

What You’ll Do

This role plays a pivotal role leveraging strong technical and analytical expertise in financial systems, contributing to the design, implementation, and delivery of system enhancements while maintaining a stable and efficient operational environment. Working collaboratively with both internal stakeholders and external vendors, the specialist ensures the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of financial applications that support the firm’s financial operations and technology strategy. Finally, you will thrive in this dynamic team and will continue the commitment to constantly improving the systems and processes to solve problems and enhance efficiencies within the Firm.

  • Collaborate on projects that involve updating and improving existing system. Actively participate in 3E Cloud implementation project by liaising with implementation partner, software provider and internal stakeholders. Support in requirements gathering, identifying gaps in project plan, facilitating testing and supporting end users.
  • Provide effective support for financial applications (both on-premises and cloud). Participate in maintaining and enhancing financial application platforms and services through monitoring, upgrades, and proactive maintenance.
  • Works closely with IT, Finance and EPMO groups to schedule and implement projects and tasks.
  • Closely monitor and troubleshoot issues relating to legal applications (Elite 3E, E-billing Hub, ARCS3 Collections, AFS Budgeting & Reporting or Cosine Broadcast Notifications), Templates and provide support of integrated products (Intapp).
  • Escalate and collaborate with IT Team, vendor product support and third-party vendors in streamlining resolution for complex issues.
  • Performs regular regression and integration testing to ensure all development change is tested end-to-end.
  • Analyze enhancement requests and work with business SME to ensure functional requirements are fully tested, documented and changes are implemented by guidelines.
  • Maintains up-to-date documentation to share system knowledge with IT and Finance peers for troubleshooting.
  • Responds in a timely manner to inquiries within SLA resolution timelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • College Diploma or University degree
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years relevant progressive technical experience
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters 3E financial application platform is an asset
  • Experience working with SQL server and relational database
  • Power BI and Power Query Experience is an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Excel (Advanced Level)
  • Knowledge or experience with Azure, Copilot and cloud computing are an asset
  • Knowledge or experience of Power Apps is an asset
  • Technical documentation including using tools such as Visio is an asset
  • Strong analytical, accounting, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to promote a collaborative work/team environment by presenting a professional and responsive attitude towards others and by demonstrating prompt and conscientious work habits
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
