Job Description

As a Finance Specialist for CAPSLO, provide essential fiscal and administrative support to our Head Start, Early Head Start, Migrant & Seasonal Head Start, and State Child Development (CYFS) Programs. You will ensure our programs are financially monitored and administratively supported, maximizing our ability to serve families and individuals effectively. Your work will be crucial in helping us achieve our mission of supporting the community.

What we're looking for in the ideal candidate:
• Has an AA/AS Degree.
• Has at least 3 years related work experience, or a combination of education and experience which will provide for at least 5 years of administrative/financial experience.
• Has experience in data entry, payment systems, accounts payable, or finance/information technology. (preferred)
• Has a certification in a specific financial skill, such as software certification. (preferred)
As a Finance Specialist you will:
• Process program expenditures by vouching invoices, packing slips, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and obtain program approvals for paperwork before submission to Accounts Payable.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in vendor invoices and financial transactions.
• Review, edit, and compute CYFS program In-Kind reports monthly.
• Prepare and route independent contractor agreements for review and signature.
• Process Family Child Care Program provider payments and reimbursements.
• Handle State Child Development monthly attendance and update reports for analysis and reporting.
• Participate in annual budget development for CYFS programs.
• Provide ongoing support for updating projections related to staffing, cost allocation, and cost fluctuations.
