Finance Specialist

Solve by Talent is partnering with the University of Sydney to recruit a Finance Specialist within Information and Communications Technology. This role will support effective financial control, cost management and reporting across ICT projects and portfolio delivery.

The opportunity

This is a key Delivery Office role focused on thefinancial managementof ICT projects, from validating estimates and rate cards through to budget forecasting, costtrackingand executive-level reporting.You’llwork closely with project managers and ICT leaders to ensure financial information isaccurate,currentand decision-ready across a large and complex portfolio.

Whatyou'lldo

  • Develop,reviewandmonitorICT project budgets, ensuring estimates reflect current rate cards,scopeand delivery requirements.

  • Track project costs,forecastsand variances through PPM tools, supportingaccuratereporting and financial control

  • Prepare portfolio-level financial reporting and insights for senior ICT leaders, including project control board reporting.

  • Partner with project managers to improve cost discipline, budgetaccuracyand financial decision-making.

  • Identifyfinancial risks, costpressuresand process improvement opportunities across the ICT project portfolio

Whatwe'relooking for

  • Experience infinancial management, project accounting, portfolio/program/projectmanagementor a related field.

  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and cost control in a large-scale environment.

  • Experience using PPM tools for cost planning,forecastingand project financial reporting.

  • Advanced analytical skills and strong attention to detail when working with complex data.

  • Clear communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
