Role Purpose


The Finance Director, Tax Planning leads the company’s tax planning strategy and advises Treasury, Finance, and business leaders on complex domestic and international tax matters. This role supports business objectives through strategic tax guidance, compliance, financial reporting, and cross-functional partnership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong partnerships with Treasury and business stakeholders by providing guidance and support on tax-related matters, including distributions, repatriations, foreign currency, and hedging.
  • Establish and drive tax strategies, while supporting the execution of tax policy in collaboration with corporate Treasury, Finance, and business partners.
  • Support the preparation of tax provisions, tax accounting, and tax-related footnote disclosures included in public filings, such as Forms 10-Q and 10-K, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Partner with the tax team to support domestic and international tax audits, including gathering and organizing information needed to respond to audit requests.
  • Assist with tax due diligence, legal document review, and the tax structuring of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Oversee, prepare, and/or support tax filing obligations to ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to obtain timely technical guidance and support the successful execution of tax projects, while maintaining appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Prepare, implement, and maintain tax documentation, related processes, and internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, and/or Juris Doctor (JD) required; advanced related degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive tax experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead and execute complex projects across multiple functions, geographies, and/or divisions within a large multinational organization.
  • Extensive experience interpreting, applying, and advising on high-risk, strategic, and complex tax matters.
  • Proven success engaging with senior leadership, influencing business decisions, and delivering concise, insightful presentations.
  • Significant experience in U.S. international tax and federal Subchapter C planning required.
  • Knowledge of foreign currency, Section 987, and hedging preferred.
  • Subchapter K planning experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of regional tax matters, particularly in Asia Pacific and Europe.
  • Experience with ASC 740, especially as it relates to the impact of tax planning initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively with stakeholders at both regional and local levels.
  • Prior experience managing tax professionals, with a proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

The range for this position is $172,373.00 - $237,013.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
