Purpose of the Job:
- Manage project controlling and financial reporting in line with internal control rules.
- Ensure project accounting aligns with company guidelines.
- Maintain consistency with project teams (Planning, Sourcing, etc.).
After gaining sufficient experience (assessed by the Manager), the Finance Project Analyst:
- Leads project finances for non-critical projects with the support of a Senior FPM to improve overall project performance.
- Provides financial analysis, advice, and guidance to support the project team in making the best business decisions.
- Ensures Financial Strategy implementation with the support of a Senior FPM.
- Supports the Project Manager in the risks and opportunities process and sign-off of contingencies/committed savings.

- Reports to: Site Head of Finance / Head of Finance Project Manager / Site Controller / FPM

- External: Customer (mainly Finance Organization) and jointly with a Senior FPM, Partners (mainly Finance Organization) and jointly with a Senior FPM
Main Responsibilities:

Early stage, newcomer with little experience with support of a Senior FPM:
- Obtain all financial and accounting data related to allocated contracts.
- Check the accuracy of data accounted for on the project (invoices, timesheets, travel expenses, etc.).
- Control cost movements monthly, compare with “As Sold” situation and previous forecasts.
- Present all financial data transparently.
- Prepare the estimate at completion for validation during Project Reviews.
- Follow up on receivables.
- Ensure reconciliation between approved project financial data and books.

Mature stage as Finance Project Analyst, assessed by the Manager, with support of a Senior FPM:
- Implement the Financial Strategy for project success.
- Optimize financial aspects of the project (organization, tax, hedging, financing).
- Provide finance advice and tutoring to the project team.
- Ensure compliance with finance rules in project review preparation and throughout project execution.
- Control the financial performance of the project and propose action plans to improve contract margin and cash profile.
- Raise "Early Warnings" when necessary to increase management attention.
- Add insight and accuracy to project financial information.
- Challenge and approve Project Financials as per DoA (delegated by a Senior FPM).
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, especially for tax and statutory accounts purposes.
- Liaise with other finance expert functions when necessary.
- Cooperate with other expert functions (e.g., Legal, Platforms, Operational Excellence, etc.).
- Establish a strategic network with external financial players involved in the project.
- Support PM in risks and opportunities process and sign-off contingencies/committed savings.
- Partner with PM and CM in Contract & Claim Management (focus on finance topics & risks profile).
- Follow the proper closing of the projects on the site.
Main Activities:
- Collaborate with the Finance Tender Manager to understand and implement the global financial strategy set for the project at the tender stage.
- Contribute effectively to the project initial set up.
- Communicate effectively with Project Stakeholders and provide reliable financial analysis.
- Prepare jointly with the project team, the management project reviews content and reassess each semester the profitability.
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Manage and analyze costs, revenue, and profitability.
- Prepare timely forecasts for sales, costs, margin, and cash.
- Ensure the billing process is timely.
- Support the finance teams in the monthly closing process and reporting Project financials.
- Challenge eligibility and relevance of Capex & R&D.
- Ensure project contractual bonds and guarantees are issued in due time and request release "as soon as possible".
Measurement / Key Performance Indicators:
- Achievement of financial targets of the project.
- Compliance with ALSTOM rules & processes.
- Timely and accurate MPRs & FPRs.
Required Competences:
Educational Requirements:
- Mandatory: Master’s in business school, engineering school, or university equivalent.
- Desirable: MBA, master’s in finance.
Experience:
- Mandatory: Graduated from university or with one year of experience in Finance, team working, excellent knowledge in MS Excel, excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Desirable: Fluent in other languages is a plus.
