Maxis, Malaysia's leading converged solutions provider, is seeking a highly motivated and analytically driven Finance Professional to join our dynamic Finance Performance & Analysis (Performance Reporting) team. This pivotal role is at the heart of our financial operations, where you will be instrumental in delivering timely, accurate, and profoundly insightful management reports for the entire Maxis Group. You will play a crucial part in transforming complex financial data into strategic narratives, directly influencing key business decisions and shaping our future success in a rapidly evolving industry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Performance and Management Reporting Excellence

  • Drive Reporting Accuracy & Insight: Prepare and deliver robust financial and operational performance reports for senior management, board, and regulatory review. Ensure all reports are timely, precise, and provide actionable insights.
  • In-depth Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analyses, including variance analysis, profitability assessments, cost-benefit evaluations, and trend identification. Proactively highlight performance drivers, identify potential risks, and uncover strategic opportunities for growth and efficiency improvements across the Maxis ecosystem.
  • Process & Data Integrity Enhancement: Champion the continuous enhancement of reporting processes, methodologies, and data integrity frameworks. Leverage technology and best practices to optimize efficiency and reliability in financial reporting.

2. Strategic Forecasting and Budgeting

  • Group-wide Financial Planning: Assist in the meticulous consolidation of Maxis Group's financial forecasts and annual budgets. Ensure all underlying assumptions are rigorously validated and projections are robust, realistic, and aligned with strategic objectives.

3. Empowering Business Partnering for Strategic Initiatives & Operational Support

  • Trusted Financial Advisor: Act as a key finance business partner and trusted advisor to our exciting New Ventures (e.g., Solar business initiatives) and Corporate Support divisions. Provide invaluable financial insights, expert advice, and guidance on reporting, forecasting, and budgeting matters.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Build strong, collaborative relationships with business leaders and departmental heads. Ensure financial information is not only understood but effectively leveraged to support strategic decision-making, drive operational improvements, and foster sustainable growth.
  • FP&A Operational Excellence: Provide essential operational support for various FP&A activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and to the highest professional standards, thereby contributing to the overall effectiveness of the finance function.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

Experience & Education

  • Proven Experience: At least 5 years of relevant, hands-on experience in Finance Performance & Analysis, Management Reporting, FP&A, or a related financial role, preferably within a large, dynamic organisation.
  • Academic Background: A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accountancy, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field.

Skills & Abilities

  • Analytical Acumen: Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Communication & Influence: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to articulate financial information effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions. A strong team player.
  • Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced expertise in Excel for complex data manipulation, analysis, and dashboard creation.
  • Attention to Detail: Unwavering commitment to accuracy and detail, coupled with the ability to multitask effectively and consistently meet stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Industry Passion: A genuine passion for staying abreast of industry developments, market trends, and technological advancements in finance and telecommunications.
