DURATION: 06 Months (Renewable)
Finance operations for the Yemen Country Office had been centralized in Sana’a. Following the incidents in northern Yemen, the offices were seized and WFP operations in the northern offices were subsequently paused. Consequently, the contracts of Finance staff in the northern offices were terminated on 31 March 2025. The Finance Officer Short-Term Position (STP), one of the core positions in the approved organogram, has also been discontinued in 2026 under Staffing Framework 2.0.
This CST II position is intended to fill the gap in work previously performed by the STP during the transition period, until the new position contract type is determined and approved.
Under the supervision of the Head of Finance or the Head of Finance Officer-in-Charge, the incumbent will:
Advanced university degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or a first university degree in the same subject area with additional years of related work experience, plus membership in an internationally recognized professional accountancy body such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPA), or equivalent.
Experience working in finance and project management, preferably in the field and within a humanitarian institution.
Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
