Job Description

Our client is a well-established hospitality company in Malta, committed to delivering high standards across its operations. They are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Officer to join their Finance team and support the accurate and efficient management of financial and administrative processes.

Position Summary

The Finance Officer will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day finance operations, with a particular focus on purchase invoices, supplier reconciliations, cost monitoring, accruals, and fixed assets. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance team and other departments to ensure accurate financial records and effective cost control.

Key Responsibilities

• Review purchase invoices daily against supplier agreements and contracts.
• Post purchase invoices accurately into the accounting system.
• Identify and report invoice discrepancies to the relevant departments.
• Monitor supplier pricing and inform Heads of Department of any price changes to support cost control.
• Follow up on outstanding invoices arising from supplier reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly accruals and maintain job sheet logbooks for monthly management accounts.
• Process capital expenditure invoices within both the accounting and fixed assets systems.
• Assist with administrative duties, including licence and permit applications.
• Support the Finance team during monthly stock takes through spot checks.
• Provide general assistance with finance-related duties as required.
• Carry out any other tasks commensurate with the role.

Requirements

• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Proactive attitude with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in procurement, logistics, finance, or administration will be considered an advantage.
• Previous experience within the hospitality industry will be considered an advantage.
• Experience using accounting software will be considered an advantage.
