Job Purpose:
The Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the Bank's financial management activities by ensuring accurate financial reporting, budget monitoring, financial analysis, accounts processing, and regulatory compliance. The role contributes to the effective management of the Bank's financial resources through timely financial information, sound financial controls, and adherence to accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Process and reconcile accounting transactions, including payments, receivables, and general ledger entries.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Monitor expenses and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor financial performance and provide analysis to support decision-making.
• Maintain effective financial controls and safeguard the Bank's assets.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Minimum of 2-4 years' relevant experience in finance, accounting, or financial management.
