About the role

The role of Finance Officer ensures that billing, Residential payment statements, receipting, electronic claiming, reconciliations, month end reports are carried out in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with relevant legislation. The Finance officer will also be providing operational support and assisting finance team members with queries relating to billing, debtor collection, and account enquires.

This role is a permanent full-time position based at St Leonards. Working from Home (WFH) arrangements are available to team members, subject to meeting the requirements of the role and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Processing of Admissions and Discharges in line with Aged Care Standards
  • Invoicing/Claiming/Reconciliations with external providers e.g. Services Australia, Private Health Insurance providers, Local Health Districts and suppliers to HammondCare in line with legislation, including New Aged Care Act.
  • Oversight of unspent funds, client transfers and funding upgrades/changes
  • Process reimbursements and discharges in accordance with relevant legislative timeframes and guidelines
  • Assisting with Credit control/Debtor collection
  • Receipting of payments and reconciliations including preparing journal entries for banking to be posted to Coupa
  • Client Account enquiries
  • Liaising with different stakeholders in operations, finance and other HammondCare teams
  • Data Analysis with some data entry to identify trends and matters to be investigated further.
  • Identify efficiency opportunities and best practise, to raise with their manager.
  • Ad hoc projects as required: Including increase in adoption of work orders across the business and enhancements to exception reporting.

About You

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
  • Experience in similar finance roles including billing, revenue, payable
  • Engaged in or completed accounting related studies such as a Certificate in Accounting, Diploma in Accounting (Finance) or similar studies
  • Cert IV in relevant field or undergraduate degree
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written
  • Negotiation skills, with a customer focused approach
  • Ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy , patience and professionalism
  • Immediate to advanced computer skills, specifically MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
