Amazon Leo seeks a Finance Manager to support the Direct-to-Device (DTD) constellation business. Leo's DTD service will connect billions of devices globally through satellite-based connectivity, partnering with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to deliver ubiquitous coverage where terrestrial networks cannot reach. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial by nature, a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities, analytical in approach, and have a demonstrated ability to develop and own financial models that provide intelligence for multi-billion-dollar investment decisions. This role requires a self-starter with superb business modeling skills, the ability to influence senior leadership, keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage ambiguity in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Key job responsibilities
Own, design, develop, and maintain long-range financial models to project and evaluate DTD business performance across constellation generations, including revenue forecasting, ARPU modeling, and capacity-driven economics
Perform strategic financial analysis of go-to-market strategies including MNO partnership evaluation, spectrum acquisition economics, pricing strategy, and market entry prioritization
Build and own P&L models for the DTD business, develop business insights and KPI dashboards, and drive ad hoc analyses that inform investment decisions at the VP+ and S-Team level
Develop financial frameworks to evaluate constellation capacity allocation, beam optimization trade-offs, and satellite manufacturing/launch economics as they pertain to DTD service delivery
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business Development to translate technical assumptions (satellite capacity, spectrum bandwidth, device penetration) into financial impact and business cases
Create and implement revenue and cost models incorporating MNO revenue share structures, spectrum costs, and device ecosystem scaling to be presented in business reviews
Educate and influence business partners on financial and operational trade-offs, exercising sound judgement in highly ambiguous situations with limited or rapidly evolving data
Assist in developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls for a nascent and rapidly scaling business
- 6+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- 6+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
- 6+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
