Create your best future and join Westpac as a Finance Manager, JRC
What’s the role?
As Finance Manager, Journals, Reconciliation & Controls (JRC), you’ll own and optimise high‑volume month‑end finance processes delivered at scale across the Group. Sitting within Financial Services, this role operates at the intersection of onshore stakeholders, offshore delivery teams (Genpact), and Business Unit Finance, ensuring strong governance, quality outcomes, and efficient delivery.
You’ll provide hands‑on oversight of journals, accruals, reconciliations, and balance‑sheet controls, while supporting the monthly close and Group Flash P&L. This is a BAU‑critical role, requiring comfort with recurring cycles, tight deadlines, and accountability for end‑to‑end outcomes - while still driving continuous improvement over time.
A key part of the role is improving how finance operations are delivered: identifying opportunities to standardise, automate, and uplift controls, supporting offshore performance against SLAs, and strengthening documentation, knowledge transfer, and resilience in the operating model
This is a permanent, full‑time role based in Sydney, operating under a hybrid working model (three days per week in the office).
