ABOUT THE ROLE
The position is part of the Global Financial Accounting and Reporting team. The individual will be responsible for leading the quarterly global intercompany reconciliation process ensuring the preparation and execution of internal process. This position will also be responsible for the preparation of Consolidated Taxation Reporting and other taxation reporting requirements, including Country-by-Country reporting and Total Tax Contribution reporting. The individual will be responsible for supporting the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting in preparing the quarterly IFRS consolidated financial statements, including the preparation of footnote disclosures, account analyses, and coordination with international affiliates and external auditors.

Financial Reporting Key responsibilities:
Support with the preparation of the Annual Accounts of Chanel Limited Group, which includes the consolidation of over 250 subsidiaries, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”).
Take central role in the development and maintenance of ARCS global intercompany matching system, as well as supporting metadata updates.
Utilise FCCS consolidation software to perform different job functions, including preparation of select consolidation journal entries and consolidation worksheets for the year-end audit and quarterly reporting (Q2, Q3 and Q4).
Preparation of various footnote disclosures to support the core financial statements.
Perform data analysis and quality review of financial data submitted by global entities on a quarterly basis.
Correspond with international finance community and interface with external auditors.
Drive process improvements in reporting and consolidation cycles to enhance accounting and reporting capabilities.
Research technical accounting issues and propose proper treatment and resolution.
Develop and coach junior team members, supporting with and reviewing various aspects of their work on the intercompany reconciliation process and consolidation.
Perform ad hoc analyses and work on special projects for management.
Taxation Reporting Key responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting the preparation of “Country by Country” and “Total Tax Contribution” reporting - collating information from FCCS and TRCS, preparing draft reports for review by Global Head of Tax and Insurance and Head of Global Corporate Tax.
Responsible for the maintenance and development of Taxation Reporting Cloud Services “TRCS” in collaboration with corporate taxation, finance community, external advisers, Chanel IT etc. This role will also support the tax team in their ownership of the Pillar II reporting tool.
Utilise TRCS consolidation software to perform different job functions, including ensuring TRCS metadata structure meets reporting requirements.
Calculate and understand individual country Effective Tax Rates, tax reconciliations, deferred tax positions and corporate tax provisions, challenge markets as to rates, analyse and report to global head of taxation and insurance.
Be primary point of contact for Deloitte US tax team in respect of US tax return requirements of the Chanel Group.
Preparation and circulation of the quarterly royalty calculations to the finance community.
Support tax department with various analysis.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING/HAVE
Qualified Accountant (ACA or equivalent). Background in professional services firm preferred.
2-3 years minimum post qualified experience ideally in industry. 4-5 years post qualified experience ideally in industry advantageous
Understanding of international accounting and reporting standards (particularly IAS12).
Good understanding of multicurrency complex consolidation.
Strong skillset in accounting for income taxes a plus.
Organised, analytical, curious and detail-oriented.
A strong interest in process improvement, with the ability to spot inefficiencies and suggest practical enhancements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills ability to interact well with senior management and other professionals.
Ability to work independently within a team in a multi-task environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
Experience with ARCS/FCCS/TRCS and GPM would be advantageous.
