Job Posting Details

The Treasury team within the Finance Office is responsible for managing the University’s funds and monitoring long-term investments by its endowments and Superannuation Schemes. It also prepares financial analysis and long-term projections to support the development of the University as well as setting of financial policies such as endowment spending and investment return accounting / allocation.

An opportunity has come up for an aspiring individual to join the Treasury team with the following responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day working capital planning and surplus funds investment. Implementation and administration of electronic banking.
  • Medium- to long-term cash and financial projection and arrangement of external financing.
  • Management of banking relationships and oversight of performance of approved banks and compliance of counterparty limits.
  • Setting investment policies for the University’s funds and Superannuation Schemes.
  • Analysis and reporting on investment performance.
  • Accounting of investment income, interest expense, loan drawdown and repayment.
  • Supervise and develop treasury staff.

Applicants should have:

  • A bachelor's or higher degree with a recognized professional accounting qualification and / or a CFA holder.
  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience at managerial level in a company / institution with substantial size of funds being managed.
  • Comprehensive corporate treasury knowledge in fund planning, cash management, electronic banking operations, investment performance measurement / analysis and accounting.
  • Hands-on experience in dealing with banks, fund managers and investment consultants.
  • Excellent writing skills in presenting reports and proposals to senior management and the University’s governing bodies.
  • A good team player with exceptional analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

(Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
