The Marketing Finance organization is looking for a Finance Manager to join our Commercial Marketing Finance team to design analytical frameworks, develop reporting capabilities, and drive key initiatives, while also providing support to the team on fiscal planning and RoB processes. This role will entail applying a systems‑thinking approach and leveraging technology on finance projects for Commercial Marketing that contribute to operating leverage for Microsoft. This is an opportunity to build and utilize skills such as AI, advanced Excel, Power BI, and data storytelling to turn insights into clear recommendations.
The Commercial Marketing Finance team is part of the Marketing Finance org and partners closely with marketing stakeholders focused on our Commercial offerings (AI Business Solutions, Commercial Cloud & AI, and Microsoft Security). This team provides finance partnership, analysis and business insights, strategic investment prioritization, thought leadership, and resource trade‑off decision support to the Commercial marketing leadership at Microsoft.

This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring on‑site presence at our Redmond campus three days a week.
Responsibilities
Own analytical frameworks and reporting views spanning all Commercial Marketing CSAs (Customer Solution Areas), including AI Business Solutions, Commercial Cloud & AI, and Microsoft Security
Support Commercial Marketing leadership in strategic investment prioritization through data analysis that clearly links marketing OPEX spend to revenue outcomes
Partner with CSA Finance Leads to streamline and enhance reporting views that support in‑year headcount management and resource trade‑off decisions
Represent the Commercial Marketing team on cross‑CSA and central initiatives such as Marketing Units of Production (MUPs), Spend Optimization, and related programs
Drive adoption of technological capabilities, including AI‑enabled tools, to simplify, automate, and scale financial workflows across the team
Strengthen analytical rigor in planning and forecasting models for Commercial Marketing through benchmarking analysis, seasonality trends, and historical performance insights
Drive continuous improvements in spend management processes and apply Agentic AI capabilities to enhance forecasting and budgeting workflows
Standardize planning templates and supporting documentation across Commercial CSA teams in close partnership with the Central Finance team

Financial Analysis IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 - $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 - $168,000 per year.
