About the role:As a Finance Manager at our Buying Hub in Duiven, you’ll take ownership of site-level finance for a critical part of our Northern European operation.
This is a hands-on role focused on inventory, purchasing, and appraisal workflows, where control, accuracy, and process integrity are key. You’ll ensure that everything from boxes received to items bought is financially robust, well-governed, and scalable.

Working closely with site leadership and the wider European Finance Team, you’ll bring visibility to performance, strengthen controls, and continuously improve how we operate.

This role is closely embedded within site operations, and will require a strong on-site presence, particularly in the early stages, to build relationships, embed processes, and support the site as it scales.

Key Responsibilities

Key Goals & Objectives:

  • Maintain strong, reliable inventory control and stock accuracy
  • Deliver accurate and timely month-end inputs, reviews, and variance analysis
  • Ensure effective and well-governed purchase order and accounts payable processes
  • Ensure accurate and compliant payroll processes with external providers
  • Support scalable and well-controlled buying and appraisal operations
  • Improve operational efficiency through better processes and financial visibility
  • Contribute to a consistent and scalable European finance framework


What you’ll be doing:

  • Own and enhance inventory control processes, including valuation and stock movements
  • Implement and maintain controls across appraised and bought boxes and related workflows
  • Work with the accounting team to support and review month-end, including variance analysis
  • Drive purchase order approval processes, ensuring appropriate governance before spend is committed
  • Facilitate accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy, control, and timely processing
  • Monitor and control site capex, ensuring appropriate governance
  • Coordinate with outsourced providers to deliver accurate and compliant payroll
  • Partner with site leadership to identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Ensure strong financial governance and integrity of site-level financial data

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant (e.g. RA, AA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or local equivalent)
  • Experience in a hands-on finance role within an operational or multi-site environment
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, processes, and reporting
  • Experience contributing to month-end close and financial analysis
  • Confident working with operational stakeholders and influencing outcomes
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
  • Proactive, hands-on, and collaborative approach with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Willingness to be regularly on-site and work closely with operational teams.

Desirable:

  • Experience in inventory-heavy environments (e.g. logistics, warehousing, retail)
  • Exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency businesses
  • Experience improving systems or implementing new processes
  • Experience in a high-growth or scaling business
  • Experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting systems
  • Interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve finance processes
