Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Finance Manager leads the accounting functions for Yara China, overseeing general ledger, ac-counts payable, accounts receivable, tax compliance, and statutory/IFRS reporting. This role is re-sponsible for ensuring the integrity of financial records, timely period-end close, compliance with IFRS and local GAAP, and the continuous development of the accounting team. The Finance Controller acts as a key finance business partner to senior management and plays a central role in audit management and internal control compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the full accounting function including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, and intercompany accounting.
  • Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met with accuracy.
  • Review and approve journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement schedules.
  • Ensure financial reporting compliance with IFRS and applicable local GAAP requirements.
  • Manage statutory reporting and coordinate with external auditors for annual and interim audits.
  • Oversee tax compliance activities (corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax) in collaboration with the Tax Accountant.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Acting as FP&A leader to provide accurate actuals for management reporting and variance analysis.
  • Manage, coach, and develop the accounting team, setting clear performance objectives and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, systems, and automation initiatives.
  • Liaise with treasury on cash flow, bank reconciliations, and hedging accounting (IFRS 9).
  • Support ERP and finance system enhancements, including SUN configuration and chart of accounts management.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions (M&A, restructuring, new contracts).

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience managing audit processes with Big 4 or major accounting firms.
  • Proficiency in HFM(Hyperion) and advanced MS Excel; experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g power BI) is an advantage.
  • CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification required.
  • English Proficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance teams in a multi-entity or regional environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
