JobMatchingPartner is looking for a Finance Manager to join a PSP company serving clients across iGaming, eSports, eCommerce, and Lead Generation.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be managing the finance function for the Malta office. You will also be managing the Accounts Assistant while working closely with internal teams, external auditors, banking or payment partners and stakeholders.
This is a hybrid role that offers a salary of up to €60K
Role & Responsibilities
Take ownership of finance operations
Ensure financial transactions are processed and posted correctly
Oversee bank, payment provider, and company accounts reconciliations, flagging and resolving discrepancies
Lead accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, compiling management accounts, financial reports, and supporting schedules
Act as the key contact for banks, payment providers, auditors, and other external partners, coordinating statutory audits and preparing required schedules and documentation
Maintain strong financial controls, processes, and record-keeping, identifying opportunities for improvement
Manage regulatory and compliance reporting
Liaise with compliance, risk, and other teams, and keep the team current on changes to accounting standards and regulations
Track payment and transaction activity, following up on any discrepancies
Mentor and lead the Accounts Assistant, assigning tasks and providing feedback on performance
Treat all financial and business information with the confidentiality it requires
Own quarterly VAT submissions for the UK and Malta entities, plus commission calculations for the commercial team and introducers
Education, Skills & Experience
Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or related and/or ACCA qualified or part-qualified, ACA, or CIMA
3+ years of experience in finance/accounts, ideally within banking, payments, an EMI, or a regulated financial services environment in Malta - non-negotiable
Experienced with payment transactions, PSPs and/or e-money businesses is a plus
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
Hands-on experience with Xero
Knowledgeable regarding financial services regulatory and compliance requirements
Previous experience with regulatory reporting is a strong plus
Previous experience in mentoring and leading junior team members
Great with numbers, analytical with excellent problem-solving skills
Organised with a keen eye for detail and time management skills
Proficiency with MS Excel
Ability to work independently and within a team
