Job Summary

The Finance Manager / Assistant Finance Manager will support the Senior Finance Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Finance and Accounts Department. The ideal candidate will take ownership of full-set accounting, consolidated financial reporting, product costing, and regulatory compliance, while mentoring a dedicated team to ensure financial accuracy and operational excellence across the group's business units.

Job Responsibilities

• 
  Departmental Support:
  Assist the Senior Finance Manager in managing day-to-day functions within the Finance and Accounts Department and supporting cross-functional business units.

• 
  Financial Analysis:
  Review and analyze the group's financial statements to provide meaningful and accurate business insights.

• 
  Cost Accounting:
  Lead the preparation, regular updates, and continuous enhancement of the company's product Costing System.

• 
  Consolidation:
  Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated accounts across the group of companies.

• 
  Management Reporting:
  Generate comprehensive management accounts, financial evaluations, and other ad-hoc financial reports for leadership.

• 
  External Liaison:
  Oversee routine finance operations and liaise effectively with external parties, including auditors, bankers, and tax agents.

• 
  Statutory Compliance:
  Review and manage the timely submission of government statutory reports to regulatory bodies (e.g., MIDA, Customs Office, Bank Negara).

• 
  Team Leadership:
  Plan, coordinate, and coach finance subordinates on daily accounting workflows and administrative operations.

• 
  Ad-Hoc Duties:
  Perform any other ad-hoc financial tasks or special projects as assigned by the Directors and upper management.

Requirements

• 
  Education:
  Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent professional qualification.

• 
  Experience:
  Minimum of 5 to 10 years of solid experience handling full-set accounting, with a strong preference for candidates coming from the retail or FMCG industry.

• 
  Technical Skills:
  Highly proficient in accounting software (such as SQL and ERP systems) and Microsoft Office applications.

• 
  Competencies:
  Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with an exceptional degree of precision and attention to detail.

• 
  Domain Knowledge:
  Well-versed in inventory management, cost accounting, and managing high-volume retail transactions.

• 
  Regulatory Knowledge:
  Sound understanding of GST/SST regulations and other prevailing local tax laws.

• 
  Communication:
  Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
