The Role

We are seeking a commercially astute Finance Manager to join our team, with flexibility for the role to be based in either Sydney or Brisbane depending on the successful candidate’s location. This is a high-impact position partnering closely with senior leadership to provide critical financial insight and driving performance across the region. As a key business partner to the Commercial and General Management teams, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting decision-making through meaningful analysis, and ensuring strong financial governance. You will lead the consolidation and reporting of sales, P&L, balance sheet, and cash performance, while also contributing to planning cycles, forecasting, and driving improvements in profitability and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver consolidated reporting for Sales, P&L, and Balance Sheet (both actuals and forecasts) across ANZPI (Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Islands), including Actuals, RLBE/Forecast, and Confirmations.

  • Act as a trusted Finance Business Partner to the CM/GM, supporting day-to-day operational and commercial decision-making.

  • Oversee the consolidation, reporting, and monitoring of the Cash Conversion Cycle and Credit Management across ANZPI markets.

  • Lead the consolidation, analysis, and reporting of regional Plans and RLBE submissions.

  • Manage distributor-related activities, including appointment and renewal processes, inventory oversight, and credit/margin claim management.

  • Provide financial analysis and decision support by identifying and evaluating key profitability drivers across Plan and RLBE cycles.

  • Deliver insightful, value-added analytics to guide and influence Senior Management on risks, opportunities, and strategic decisions.

  • Track and report end-customer sales performance (primary, secondary, and tertiary) across all ANZPI markets.

  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial data in line with corporate/divisional policies and GAAP requirements.

  • Implement and maintain adherence to Abbott accounting policies and procedures (CFMs).

  • Partner with local HR to review and provide Sales Incentive calculations.

  • Lead and develop one direct report, supporting their growth and capability building.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Degree in Finance or Accountancy or related subjects

  • Minimum 8-10 years of business controlling experience in multinational, customer-oriented environment (Experience in FP&A is highly advantageous)

Knowledge, Skills and Other Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical/ problem solving skills and critical thinking abilities

  • Strong can-do attitude: Innovative and collaborative with a passion for quality and efficiency

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint and ability to learn / leverage on digital tools
