Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting operations within a property development group. The role focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting, project-level cost control, and supporting management in decision-making through budgeting, forecasting, and project performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Oversee full set of accounts and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities
• 
  Prepare management accounts, financial reports, and detailed variance analysis for ongoing projects
• 
  Monitor project costing, work-in-progress (WIP), and development expenditure tracking across multiple projects
• 
  Support revenue recognition for development projects using Percentage of Completion (POC) / MFRS 15 standards
• 
  Drive annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for project and group-level performance
• 
  Manage cash flow planning, liquidity position, and banking facilities utilization
• 
  Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and financial institutions
• 
  Lead, supervise, and develop the finance team to ensure operational efficiency
• 
  Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (MFRS), internal controls, and group reporting requirements

Requirements

• 
  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or professional qualification (ACCA / CPA / CIMA or equivalent)
• 
  5–8 years of relevant finance experience, preferably within property development, construction, real estate, or infrastructure industries
• 
  Strong understanding of MFRS reporting standards, particularly MFRS 15 revenue recognition
• 
  Hands-on experience in project accounting, WIP monitoring, and Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting
• 
  Strong analytical capability with solid business partnering exposure
• 
  Experience with ERP systems (SAP or similar) will be an added advantage
• 
  Proven leadership experience in managing a small to mid-size finance team
