Your Role

This full-time role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and leads the day-to-day financial operations of estara, ensuring the integrity of financial systems, the accuracy of reporting, and the delivery of insights that support informed organisational decision-making.

Working closely with the CFO, you will contribute to the full scope of Finance team responsibilities, driving efficient and effective financial operations.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to Finance team members, fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture focused on service
excellence and aligned with estara’s strategic objectives.

In addition, you will build and sustain strong, trusted relationships across the organisation and with key external stakeholders, supporting effective collaboration and contributing to overall organisational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all reporting and compliance obligations including oversight of BAS, FBT returns, and ACNC reporting.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to the Finance team.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts including variance analysis and reporting, and ongoing forecasting.
  • Drive the annual budgeting process.
  • Undertake financial modelling and analysis to support business case preparation.
  • Assist with the annual insurance program review and claims management.
  • Manage external grant funding including performance reports and acquittals.
  • In conjunction with the CFO, work with external auditors to complete the annual external financial audit and statutory financial statements.

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Commerce, or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience leading an accounting team and reporting to a CFO or senior executive
  • Strong technical accounting skills with experience preparing management accounts, financial statements, and cash flow forecasts
  • Attention to detail and well-developed data analysis skills
  • Ability to delegate effectively to empower and develop your team
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellent stakeholder service
  • Ability to work effectively in an autonomous role

Desirable

  • Experience within the Disability sector, specifically working within the NDIS

Special Conditions:

  • DHS Working with Children Check[JM1] and NDIS Worker Screening and any relevant Screenings as stipulated by DHS/NDIS with at least 6 months’ validity
  • Intrastate travel and work outside of normal business hours as required
