The Finance Manager Belgium oversees financial management, reporting, and regulatory compliance for Yara’s Belgian legal entities, including production, commercial, and service activities.
The role ensures compliance with IFRS and Belgian GAAP, leads tax compliance and planning, and acts as the key finance business partner to local teams. Reporting to the Finance Director Central Europe, the position works closely with the Shared Service Center, Corporate Finance, Group Accounting, and Group Tax.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, Belgian GAAP, and local regulatory requirements (CIT, VAT, audits).
• Lead monthly and quarterly IFRS reporting and oversee statutory and tax financial statements.
• Act as the main contact for internal and external auditors.
Tax & Transfer Pricing
• Lead local tax planning, risk analysis, and compliance in coordination with the Group Tax team.
• Manage transfer pricing documentation and discussions with tax authorities.
Corporate Finance & Accounting
• Partner with Group Accounting on technical accounting matters.
• Support complex accounting topics such as provisions, impairments, pensions, and deferred taxes.
Business Partnering
• Provide financial insights to local business teams on profitability, costs, and investments.
• Coordinate with the Shared Service Center and support board-level financial reporting.
• Contribute to regional finance initiatives and projects.
Team Leadership
• Manage and develop the local finance team.
• Set priorities, coach team members, and ensure high performance aligned with local and Group requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of experience in finance, with a strong background in financial accounting, statutory reporting, and tax.
• In-depth knowledge of Belgian GAAP and IFRS; practical experience applying both frameworks in a complex multi-entity environment.
• Solid expertise in Belgian corporate income tax, VAT, and transfer pricing.
• Experience managing or coordinating statutory audits and liaising with external auditors and tax authorities.
• Experience with transfer pricing documentation and the ability to lead technical discussions on pricing positions and profitability.
• Previous experience in audit (external or internal) and/or financial controlling is a strong advantage.
• CPA qualification (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent professional accounting certification (e.g. ACCA, RA, or Belgian equivalent) is also a strong advantage.
• Experience working with shared service centers or in a multi-country finance organization is an asset.
