Job Description

Why Ocado Logistics?

Here at Ocado Logistics, it’s our mission to provide an outstanding customer experience for our partners — developing groundbreaking technology, opening new sites at pace, and building exciting partnerships around the world. We’re changing the way the world shops, for good.

We are the beating heart of our UK business, operating a network of cutting-edge warehouses and offices that optimise the supply chain using our proprietary technology. At the same time, we create meaningful career opportunities for our people — offering variety, challenge, and the chance to make a real impact in a fast-moving operational environment.

About the Role

We are looking for an FP&A Finance Manager – Logistics to join our UK Logistics Finance team and take ownership of the planning and forecasting processes that underpin financial performance across the business. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will play a central role in delivering high-quality financial planning, insight and analysis that supports operational and strategic decision-making.

This is a highly visible role operating at the heart of a complex and evolving logistics environment. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Logistics and the wider business, leading the budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning cycles while ensuring robust financial control and clear performance reporting.

You will be someone who enjoys combining strong technical capability with commercial thinking — someone who can analyse performance in detail, challenge assumptions behind forecasts and plans, and provide clear, confident recommendations to senior leaders. You will also play an important role in developing capability within the team, managing and supporting a Finance Analyst while continuing to improve reporting and financial processes.

Bringing your experience of Financial Planning and Analysis within a fast-paced, operational or commercial environment, this is a fantastic opportunity to influence business performance and help shape financial outcomes across one of the UK’s most advanced logistics operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Financial Planning & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasting cycles and long-range planning activity across the Logistics business, ensuring assumptions are robust, timelines are met and financial plans support operational priorities.
  • Performance Insight Develop a deep understanding of key performance drivers across the operation, providing meaningful financial analysis, trend identification and forward-looking insight that supports performance improvement and cost management.
  • Reporting & Governance: Deliver accurate, timely and insightful monthly and annual financial reporting, ensuring strong financial controls and clear communication of performance to senior stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Partnering: Build strong relationships with operational leaders and senior management, providing financial support, challenge and recommendations that enable effective decision-making.
  • Risk & Opportunity Management: Identify financial risks and opportunities throughout the year, projecting full-year performance and recommending actions to mitigate risk or capture value.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a Finance Analyst, ensuring high-quality output, strong engagement and continuous development within the team.
  • Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, reporting and controls, contributing to more efficient and scalable ways of working across the Logistics Finance function.

About You

We are looking for a commercially minded Finance professional who thrives in complex, fast-moving environments and enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders to drive performance. You will bring strong analytical capability, a proactive mindset, and the confidence to challenge assumptions while providing clear financial insight.

You will likely have built your experience within logistics, retail, FMCG, manufacturing or similarly operational sectors, where financial planning and performance management play a critical role in business success.

You will bring:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
  • Strong experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Finance Business Partnering or Management Accounting
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and explain financial data
  • Experience building effective relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Experience managing or developing team members
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
  • The ability to work comfortably in a dynamic, changing environment with competing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to present financial information clearly to non-financial audiences

We are particularly interested in people who

  • Have strong FP&A capability within complex or operational environments (FMCG, Retail, Logistics, Transportation or similar)#
  • Can provide clear financial insight to support strategic decision-making
  • Are confident challenging assumptions and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Enjoy balancing detail with a broader commercial perspective
  • Thrive in fast-paced, evolving business environments

Importantly, we know great candidates don’t always tick every box.

At Ocado Logistics, we believe in creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported. Our benefits include:

  • Flexible working: Hybrid working with 2 days per week in our Hatfield office
  • Wellbeing: Dedicated wellbeing apps and Employee Assistance Programme
