Purpose of role
This role strengthens the quality, consistency, and reliability of Dyson’s statutory reporting and financial close processes. As the business grows, the Finance Manager ensures our accounting policies, reporting structures, and statutory compliance are executed with clarity, discipline, and sound judgement. The role suits someone who brings structure, analytical depth, and a high bar for reporting integrity across a global environment.
Key Responsibilities
Group & Local Statutory Audits
Support Group audit delivery, ensuring timely, accurate submissions with minimal issues.
Coordinate global statutory audits with Shared Services and market teams.
Improve audit efficiency through better documentation, clarity of processes, and embedding learnings.
Manage day‑to‑day interactions with external auditors and align internal stakeholders on deliverables.
Identify risks early and support resolution and root-cause analysis.
Prepare and review statutory schedules, including dividend‑related submissions.
Technical Accounting
Support IFRS impairment assessments and other technical reviews (revenue, leases, provisions, consolidation, FX).
Prepare technical accounting papers for internal and auditor review.
Assist with implementation of new standards (e.g., IFRS 18) and sustainability reporting requirements (CSRD, ISSB).
Provide technical input on business transactions, restructures, and legal entity changes.
Accounting Policy & Reporting Governance
Support the maintenance and refinement of the Group Statutory Accounting Policy to ensure consistent, IFRS‑aligned application globally.
Review and track policy exceptions, ensuring they are well‑justified, documented, and appropriately managed.
Partner with Shared Services and Markets to ensure reporting requirements and accounting interpretations are clearly understood and applied.
Skills & Experience
Qualified accountant (CA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent) with 8+ years’ experience.
Strong technical grounding in IFRS/SFRS and complex accounting matters.
Solid experience in policy interpretation and implementation
Strong experience in driving financial process improvements and governance
Strong appreciation for reporting discipline, documentation quality, and data integrity.
Skilled at working with shared services and global stakeholders.
Clear communicator with the ability to simplify technical matters.
Structured, detail‑oriented, analytical, and proactive.
Desirable
Experience in multinational or matrix environments.
Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and OneStream.
