At Enza Zaden, Finance Manager will be responsible and accountable for coordinating and improving financial processes in the country (SEA), improving / establishing reports to help management steer their business and get better insight on profitability / margin / cost (control).

  • Execute the global finance guidelines, including execution of risk & control and tax frameworks in the country.
  • Responsible for local Planning & Control cycle. To actively advice local management to improve their performance.
  • To be a strong people manager that develops and improves to best-in-class finance teams.
  • Maintains intensive internal and external contacts (e.g. breeders, seed operations, auditors, tax advisors, customers).; Maintains contacts with the relevant departments of Enza Zaden. Is member of the local management team (if applicable) and/or National Coordination Team (NCT) (if applicable)

Make a difference as Finance Manager

Join our international team in Malaysia and contribute to the leadership and enhancement of the local finance organization. Your responsibilities will include:

Ensure the local finance operations organization

  • Proactively manage, coordinate, develop and optimize all financial and administrative matters;
  • Coordinate and manage all finance tasks in the country;
  • Proactively drive and stimulate change to improve the local finance structure and people
  • Implement and control local internal control frameworks;
  • Resolve complex accounting issues and advise management in this perspective;
  • Execute global finance guidelines, including implementation of risk & control frameworks in the country
  • Ensure that all the regulatory, tax (including global tax framework), compliance and legal requirements are fully met in the country;
  • Proactively give advice on and be part of risk & control improvement projects;
  • Ensure proper execution of the monthly and quarterly closing and management report package;
  • Coordinate the teams on analysis of actuals, budget and latest estimate on an monthly basis
  • Ensure management information is reliable;
  • Co-ensure that the companies’ financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth;
  • Manage credit risks and inventory risks and control financial impact with regard to both;
  • Lead and coordinate the external and internal audit process where needed.
  • Manage, coordinate and check reports in accordance with the Enza Zaden accounting manual (e.g. monthly reports and the budget process);
  • Ensuring an optimum set-up of the administrative systems and procedures.
  • Files the necessary tax returns (etc.) in accordance with the local laws;
  • Draws up the annual accounts of the company (or companies);
  • Maintains contacts with and provides information to the local external auditor in accordance with local standards.

Business support

  • Form close working relationships with all relevant local business partners;
  • Implement and lead the global reporting, budgeting and forecasting process in the country;
  • Ensure proper actions on the reviewed results, plans, activities, business drivers and targets;
  • Ad hoc local business support where needed.

Local finance operations team management

  • Provide leadership to and develop finance in your country to a best-in-class finance team (Strategic workforce planning);
  • Coordinate, inspire, manage, coach and appraise the local finance operations team members;
  • Identify training needs and compose personal development plans for the local finance operations team members;
  • Monitor the requirements in your country, resulting in short and longer term plans for the finance department;

Other (if applicable)

  • Possible local responsibilities (e.g. team management) outside Finance, e.g. Customer Service, Logistics, Facilities. - Member of NCT, if applicable

What you bring as a future colleague

As a Finance Manager, you are expected to be practical, detail-oriented, and dedicated. You’ll work independently, reporting to the Regional Finance Manager.

In short, you should possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, as well as relevant specialised training or ongoing personal development. At least five years of related professional experience is required.
