The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Vehicle Operations facility in York is our final assembly plant. Employees at York also perform a variety of manufacturing operations, including fabrication, welding, polishing and painting and produce a wide range of current and replacement parts for all models. Join our team as a Finance Lead - Manufacturing.

Job Summary

This position is a key leader of Harley-Davidson’s York Operations finance team. The position leads the analytical support, financial management, direction, and analytical support for assigned areas in the manufacturing plant, reporting directly to the Plant Controller. This position partners with the operations teams to provide comprehensive financial support including, but not limited to, monthly performance reports, financial analysis, recommendations for improvement areas when needed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide financial analysis with focus on understanding plant operations
  • Lead standard costing activities for the plant by managing routing updates, burden rate calculations and earned hours estimates.
  • Assume leadership responsibility as necessary, including being an advocate for new ideas and serving as an example for coworkers
  • Responsible for coaching others including planning and assigning projects and tasks, reviewing progress, and evaluating results
  • Review, analyze and evaluate financial data for accuracy and consistency
  • Prepare and communicate key performance metrics for operations, including labor, production volume and inventory reporting
  • Oversee month end close process, including journal entries, expense analysis and development of cost of sales
  • Support internal and external audit requests and documentation
  • Participate in special projects, ad-hoc research and data analysis as needed

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Education Specifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.

Experience Requirements

This position typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related work and/or experience. In addition, the successful candidate will have demonstrated the following:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles including balance sheet and GL
  • Quality interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter continuously looking for process improvements.
  • Attention to detail while maintaining the broader, analytical perspective.
  • Excellent organizational skills – ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints.
  • SAP experience and competency with Microsoft excel preferred

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
