Wood is recruiting a Finance Lead as part of our strategic growth plan. You will be playing a critical role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting and commercial insights across a diverse portfolio. Leading a high-performing team, you will partner closely with business stakeholders and clients to drive financial performance, influence decision-making and support the continued growth and success of our operations. Based in Perth CBD, this is a permanent role and is available as a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and developing a small finance team to deliver accurate and timely accounting activities.
• Overseeing financial reporting, analysis and performance insights to support business decision-making.
• Managing invoicing and commercial compliance in line with contract requirements.
• Preparing budgets, forecasts and financial plans in partnership with operational stakeholders.
• Driving cash flow performance through effective collections, DSO management and balance sheet control.
• Ensuring compliance with financial governance, policies and audit requirements.
• Partnering with Business Managers and key stakeholders to support profitability, commercial outcomes and strategic initiatives.

Expected:

You will be able to work lawfully in Australia and hold full working rights for this location.

In addition, you will possess:

• A degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, alongside a recognised professional qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Proven experience in finance or accounting, with strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to mentor, develop and motivate high-performing teams.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights and recommendations.
• Advanced Excel capabilities and experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle, Hyperion or similar platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the business and with external partners.
• A collaborative, customer-focused mindset, supported by strong communication, influencing and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

What will set you apart is your experience within an EPCM, engineering, resources or project-based environment, where you have leveraged financial insights, forecasting and commercial acumen to support the successful delivery of complex projects.
