Our Summer Intern Program is aimed at providing an enriching and mutually beneficial experience that empowers young talent with the skills, knowledge, and values needed to excel in their chosen fields and prepare them for the next step in their careers. In addition to their working teams, the cohort will have regular opportunities to engage with each other and senior leaders from across Advarra to expand their networks and exposure to the business.

The Finance Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting both Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) functions within a dynamic corporate environment. This role offers exposure to core financial operations, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration, providing a strong foundation in both transactional accounting and forward-looking financial analysis.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with financial month-end close responsibilities (preparing and uploading journal entries, reporting requirements, process budget and monthly forecast updating, etc.)
  • Prepare budget versus actual analysis reports
  • Perform weekly department headcount reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly bill payments and/or accounts payable processing
  • Customer Purchase Order Maintenance Project (including setup of new POs in our financial system while entering/verifying key data elements such as dollar amount, identification number, currency and billing address)
  • Observe monthly budget review meetings between Finance and our Operational Business Partners (Budget Owners)

Location

This role is open to candidates working in one of the following locations: our ​Wellesley, MA​ Office or remotely in the United States

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Graduate or undergraduate student pursing a degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Ability to participate in the cohort beginning Monday, June 1, 2026 and running through Friday, August 7, 2026 and work either part time or full time between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm EST
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities 

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary workstation
  • Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 10 Lbs.
  • Learn and comprehend basic instructions
  • Focus and attention to tasks and responsibilities
  • Verbal communication; listening and understanding, responding, and speaking
